I
stopped by the Upper Store on Tuesday morning just after 8:00. I had just
driven in from Westfield to meet up with a client of mine who had a charter
boat for us out of Rock Harbor at 10:15. I stopped in to pick up some flies
because I was also going to fly fish at my client’s home in Wellfleet. I
didn’t catch the name of your employee, but he was cordial and helpful. He
told me to use chartreuse Clouser minnows. He also told me that fishing for
stripers had been quite slow lately. So did the captain on the boat. Well,
we had a pretty good day on the charter, which turned out to be Stunmai II.
Five keeper stripers, a bunch of sub legals, and more blues than I could
count. Here’s a few of the pictures. I’m wearing a blue shirt and burnt
orange hat.
Later on
at my client’s home I went fly fishing and got another nice striper on the
Clouser. That was the first striper I’ve caught on a fly and it was a
blast—it took me all the way down to the backing.
I
appreciate the friendly service and the help choosing the right fly. Please
thank your employee for me.
Regards,
Raymond

I came across your website and it brought
back so many memories from when I lived in Eastham. I 've known the Goose
since I was a kid summering in Eastham finally building my own home over
on Thumpertown Beach area on Boreen Road.
I fished for many years out of Welfleet
Harbor on my 25' Lyman. I knew "Red" very well and his part time helper
"Joe Tully" use to fish with me all the time. Bought all my gear at the
Goose. Also a charter member of the Chatham Seafood Coop. I loved all the
old pictures.
Also knew all the charter boat guys: Dick
Clark, Steve Stevenson, Elmer Costa, Stu Finley, Alan Tabor, Johnny
Shakliks and his dad, Don Walwer ..just to name a few. What memories of
the Cape, the stripers, blues, tuna and Goose I have. I moved to Florida
in 1976 and miss the Cape for what it use to be.
Keep those doors open and the best of luck
to you. The "Goose" was the best !

Merry Christmas,
Just a short note to offer a sincere
Thank You to your business. In mid November I located a set of tsunami
fillet knives on L.L. Bean. I ordered three. L.L. Bean then advised that
the shipment would be sent out the following week. On the day of expected
shipment I received a post card from L.L. Bean stating that the knives
wouldn't be sent until 1/4/07. GREAT Christmas presents.... So, as I was
searching the internet, I found your store and the same knives. The price
was slightly higher, HOWEVER, when I called the office attempting to
obtain the Air Waybill number for the shipment, I was treated as if I were
a friend that had just walked in the store. I was impressed by your
business then and more so after I received the knife sets.
You all (or ya'll from where I'm at)
have done a fine job and for that, I'm thankful. Have a most wonderful
Christmas.

Fran & Gary -
Here's a few photos from our trip to Wyoming
and the VT2 Sage rod in action!!!
Great trip … caught lots of cutthroat trout
in the Snake, Grey, and Gros Ventre Rivers!!
Thanks for the reports … found a ton of
stripers to 22" in the Pamet River and right in front of the Fisher Beach
access …. Pods of stripers cruising by … didn't have to chase them!! Other
fly fishermen I ran into had good reports for Ptown Harbor and off Jeremy
Point … no action from Herring Cove to Hatches … nothing on the Ocean side.
Enjoy the Fall!!
Best,
Gary |

| Dear Sir, I am writing to tell you what a valuable
manager Julie Martin is. |
| I purchased a Wilderness "Critter" this past 4th of July
weekend. There was a problem with the floatation device. I
won't go into detail but Julie handled the situation with a great deal
of professionalism and courtesy. It was a pleasure to meet a manger who
listened to a customer and then helped resolve the problem. |
Julie should be recognized as a valuable asset to your
store. Because of Julie I would recommend your store to anyone.
sincerely,Jane M. Bradley |
