First charted by French explorer Samuel de Champlain in 1605, today
Nauset Marsh is a large embayment and natural nursery to fish and shellfish,
and serves as an important habitat for shore birds, wading birds and
waterfowl. We follow several different routes through the marsh depending
on the tides many of the areas we visit are Fort Hill, Salt Pond, Coast
Guard Beach and many of the meandering channels through the marsh.
This ½ day lasts from
3 to 4 hours and is suitable
to all levels of experience. |
