Demo Policy –
Try before you Buy
We believe that you should have the opportunity to try any kayak
before you buy. The Goose Hummock Shop gives you 3 different
opportunities to do just that.
1 Manufacturer Demo Days
We run Manufacturer Demo Days during the year to allow you to try
many kayaks from many different manufacturers. In addition we
have the Company Representatives here to provide information on
their products as well as help guide you through your choices.
These demo days are free of charge and the date(s) will be posted
on our website.
2 In-Store Demos
We also offer in-store demos. Here is how the demo program works:
Demo Fee
Roto-molded: $25 for first 3 boats, - $10 for each additional
boat refundable at time of purchase
Composites: $25 per boat refundable at time of purchase.
Demo time is limited to 5 to 10 minutes per boat.
Before you demo, spend some time working with our knowledgeable
sales staff or researching to determine the types of boats best
suited for your needs.
We also suggest that you make an appointment so we can guarantee
the boats you wish to demo will be available. We will do demos
without appointments but they will be dependent on boat and staff
availability.
3 Wednesday Night Demos
In conjunction with our skills night on Wednesday evening we will
run demo sessions. This is how it works:
Demo fee
$10 for any boats in the rental and demo fleet up to 4 boats.
The skills session runs 60 to 90 minutes, you may stay out through
out the session. You may also join us for the session and learn a
new skill at the same time.
We do require reservations for this demo session as we will need
to limit attendance. Limits will be based on available staff.
This is a great way to spend a bit of time in the boat to really
get a feel for it. Unfortunately we must limit this program to
boats already in the rental/demo pool. If you wish to try a boat
not currently in the pool the In-Store demo program or Demo Days
will be a better option for you.
